Spazzz here. We’re going to try to beat the heat midweek with a float from Gordon’s Ferry to the parking lot across from Resurrection Church on Manor just south of the river. This section is a nice, mellow ride with water that you can usually stand up in. If you have your own tube or big pool ring, that is enough to make it down; If not, let me know.
Meet in the parking lot at Point B below by 5:30 and we’ll leave half the cars there with everyone’s post-float stuff. From there, we’ll head up to the A and try to launch by 6:15. If we can do this, we should be able to get out with some good sunlight left, but we’ll definitely beat twilight.
Let’s get a headcount with your ability to bring a tube/pool ring/whatever. Text Spazzz with this info before noon on Wednesday.
Important stuff to bring:
- River shoes; who knows what’s at the bottom.
- Dry clothes and a towel for after.
- Flotation device if you have one; if not, let Spazz or Butthook know. Butthook has a limited amount.
- Beverages of your choosing. One of us will bring a cooler.
- Sunscreen (Tetanus!). The sun will be lower, but it will still be out.
