The Labor Day hash will be an inner tube float on the Killer Kern instead of a normal run. The float will be from Rancheria Road down to Hart Park. They are still dropping the water level in Lake Isabella, so the river is still running a little higher than usual. That means there is still some level of danger in tubing on the river above the agricultural offtake points, which are downstream from Hart Park. Therefore, DO NOT consider doing this unless you are a GOOD SWIMMER.

We will meet at the Sheriff’s Pistol Range in Hart Park at 12:00 on Monday, Sep 4. There we will arrange transportation, shuttle some cars to the takeout point and then others to the put-in point. We will leave Hart Park for the put-in at 12:30. The float should take about 2-1/2 or 3 hours.

If you want to participate, you MUST email Diamond Dick (dickdiamond6969@gmail.com) and Butthook (butthook1) by noon Sunday, Sep 3, so we can get an accurate head count. We are limited on number of tubes, so this is critical. DO NOT respond on twitter or facebook. If we don’t hear from you via old school email, you are not going.

Bring sunscreen, a towel and footwear – sandals or old shoes. Flip-flops are not recommended. Consider also bringing shirts/caps/sunglasses to avoid sunburn.
